Our Mission

Security Consulting Services

The American Crime Prevention Institute (ACPI) recognizes a house of worship is a unique environment that requires a balanced approach of providing a safe and secure venue while maintaining the church's integrity and overall mission. To assist you with the safety of your church, the American Crime Prevention Institute can provide the following security-related consulting services.

On-Site Security Assessment

The American Crime Prevention Institute's certified security professionals will perform a comprehensive risk assessment of your church that will examine all aspects of physical, electronic, environmental, and procedural security.

The on-site Security Assessment will include a comprehensive evaluation of all exterior and interior security risks and vulnerabilities. The assessment will provide practical, cost-effective recommendations to eliminate or mitigate these risks.

Additionally, the Security Assessment will involve a complete evaluation of the church's security-related policies and procedures. Frequently, the policy and procedure aspect of providing church security is a secondary afterthought. Within a church, secure policies and procedures are paramount to a successful security plan. Volunteers, ushers, youth workers, and church staff all play a vital role in the overall security of the church. Policies and procedures are necessary to assist and guide church staff and volunteers with their various responsibilities.

When our consultants complete the on-site Security Assessment, your church will receive an easy to understand document that will serve as a blueprint for improved safety and security. The Security Assessment report will be a proactive guide for reducing security risks and vulnerabilities and enhancing the overall safety of the church and its congregants.

Security Design

The American Crime Prevention Institute's companion organization, Aegis Security Design, specializes in building security design features and systems.

Security system design includes creating site-specific models for any church structure (existing or planned), such as developing integrated electronic access control, closed-circuit television cameras, intrusion detection systems, communications and console design, and other monitoring systems related to security. Our security design engineers can also help the church integrate these systems through building control and fire alarm systems.

This security design service establishes general security objectives that should be reflected in the architect's building design. As the project develops, more specific review and technical commentary will be provided.

Aegis Security Design's staff of fully qualified security design engineers and consultants will develop drawings, specifications, cost estimates and other contract documents necessary to achieve all security program objectives.
