CCTV System Design Consulting

Because of an affiliated relationship with the prestigious security consulting and engineering firm, Aegis Security Design, the American Crime Prevention Institute also provides technical security consulting services to law enforcement and government agencies that are considering the deployment of close circuit television (CCTV) cameras within their respective communities.

These consulting services include:

• Evaluate CCTV software and hardware. Lead clients through the vendor selection process
• Design an IP backbone network that includes a robust horizontal data network for CCTV equipment
• Selection of network infrastructure including routers, switches, and network management software
• Selection of secondary hardware for managing the CCTV system. These devices include servers for managing digital camera streams, network storage for archiving video, and workstation PCs for viewing and forensic research.
• Participate in systems integration design to insure fire, burglar, and access control systems communicate and utilize the CCTV video system.
• Provide insight to next generation systems such as video analytics so that the CCTV system becomes a proactive system rather than just a reactive system.
• Design monitoring facilities for command center activities. Through systems integration and next generation equipment, we can design a console center that will be able to monitor and dispatch emergency personnel.
