Campus Crime Prevention Programs (CCPP) and its associate organization, AEGIS Security Design (ASD) offer a broad range of security consulting services for colleges and universities. These services include security assessment of existing campus buildings and facilities, security design of new campus buildings and facilities, development of security design standards for campus capital construction projects and evaluation and design of electronic security systems.
The staff and associates of CCPP/ASD include Certified Protection Professionals (CPP), Physical Security Professionals (PSP), certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) specialists, campus law enforcement administrators, experienced security system designers and computer-aided design specialists. We have no affiliation with product manufacturers or security systems service providers.
Colleges and universities represent unique crime prevention and security challenges. They virtually all have a diverse array of buildings and facilities. Such buildings and facilities include classroom facilities, office buildings and facilities, student residence facilities, athletic facilities, libraries, research and technical facilities, parking facilities and often medical and patient treatment facilities. A college campus may be located in a downtown, inner-city area or on thousands of acres.
Security solutions for college campuses incorporate physical security measures (i.e. mechanical locking systems, glazing, security lighting, door and window features) as well as electronic security measures (electronic access control systems, intrusion detection systems, door security systems, emergency telephones and closed circuit television systems). Electronic security measures, in particular, are often highly complex and difficult to effectively design without considerable experience and expertise. In addition, AEGIS Security Design consultants are skilled in the design of campus buildings and facilities within the context of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), a series of benign design strategies which address security issues and concerns through the manipulation and management of space.
